Persepolis

   Marjane wanted to be a prophet because she wanted to change the world and she doesn't like how it is. A journalist took a photo of marjane's mother. Marjane's mother was scared so she dyed her hair and wore dark glasses for a long time. Fidel castro was a ruler in cuban, and he ruled for about 50 years. Marjane could communicate with god and god would always visit her. Marjane said that god had chose her to be the next prophet. Marjane said that when she becomes a prophet she would be better than fidel casrto. According to marjane, god had chose her to be the next prophet. What marjane learned about her family is that her grandpa was a prime minister. Also that her grandpa became a communist and that he once was sidetracked from his princely destiny.

-People are not as they seem



The people you see or meet are not as they seem to be. We shouldn't judge the people by how they look or act. At the begining of the school year, I always judge the teachers I get. When I get a mean teacher I am like "I dont like him" but at the end of the year I end up liking them. The same thing with people I meet. When I meet a girl that I seem not to like, later we we talk and talk and I end up liking them as a friend. It also happens the opposite way sometimes. Sometimes I meet a girl who seem friendly, but later when I get to know them better they end up not being friendly. It also happens with family members that I have not met. That's why  sometimes people are not as they seem to be, and I think we should get to know them better.

       I think Pi was not valued in her community or in her family because she was a female and they were looking for a male to be the leader. Pi's grandmother was on her side instead of her husband. The grandmother thought that the grandfather was not being fair to Pi. Pi wanted to do the same things the boys were doing. I think the grandfather made Pi feel useless by the things he would tell her and the way he was with her. Pi wanted to learn how to fight with a stick but the grandfather didn't want her to learn. So, Pi ask her uncle to teach her and he did. Puaker gave classes to the boys in the community so they could learn things that were needed to know to be the leader. Finally puaker gave them a test and all of them fail. Pi proved she was the chosen one by getting back the whale tooth and by riding a whale.

Flowers

 

My favorite type of plants are flowers. I have always liked flowers. When I was little, me and my mom would go to the park and I would pick flowers. My mom would get mad when I cutted flowers from people's house. Now I plant flowers at my house. I plant them at the very end of winter so they can grow in spring. My parents like plants too, they have a lemon, orange, avocado, and a guayaba tree. What I like about flowers is that they are cute. There are many types, colors, and sizes of flowers. I am always drawing them when I'm bored. I love flowers.
